To prepare:

Preheat oven to 220 °C (200 °C fan), lightly grease a baking tray.

Pour mix into a bowl. In a separate bowl, whisk the egg with milk. Reserve 2 tsp for glazing.

Add remaining liquid to the mix and stir into a smooth dough.

Roll out to approx. 2 cm thickness on a floured surface and cut out 6 scones.

Place on tray, brush tops with reserved egg-milk mixture.

Let rest for 10 minutes, then bake for 10–12 minutes until golden.
